Harriet Jane Martens of Thermopolis, Wyoming, formerly of Addieville, IL, departed this life on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton, Wyoming.  She attended the age at 77 years, 4 months and 28 days.

 

Harriet was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 8, 1946, daughter of Robert James Perry and Mabel Bertha (Lammers) Perry.

 

Harriet graduated from Okawville High School and was a member of the Okawville Explorers Drum and Bugle Corp.

 

She attended college in St. Louis, MO, where she pursued her degree to become a lab technician.  Harriet was a very hard-working woman that always worked multiple jobs, including owning her own upholstery business. Spending the past 50 years working for The Family Medical Center in Nashville, IL, Tok Clinic, Tok Alaska, Crossroads Hospital Mt. Vernon, Ill, SSM Health Wentizville , MO, Ivinson Memorial Hospital, Laramie, WY, Hot Springs County Hospital in Thermopolis, WY.

 

Harriet loved fishing and would go any chance she could.  She loved having her dogs by her side.  Tater, Sparky and Bear and spending time with family.  She enjoyed playing softball for Addieville Lumber and Daily Oil teams and going to sporting events to watch her children and grandchildren play sports.

 

Those left to mourn in her passing are her three children; daughter, Kelly (Dave) Bergkoetter of Addieville, Ill; son, James (Jaki) Martens of Venedy, Ill; daughter, Vicki (Jesi) Martens of Thermopolis, WY; 5 grandchildren, Hilary (Nick) Dressler, Hanna (Logan) Kay, Hope Bergkoetter, Trevor Martens and Tanner Martens, 2 great grandchildren, Wesley Dressler and Oaklynn Kay.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Perry and Mabel Perry; great grandchildren, Hadley Dressler and Wyley Dressler.

 

Cremation has taken place.  No services are planned at this time.

 

Should family and friends desire to make a memorial contribution in her name, they may do so to the St. Jude’s or Shriner’s Hospital in care of Kelly Bergkoetter, 6780 State Route 15, Addieville, IL 62214.
