Funeral services for Marie Elena Colgan, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Colgan passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home in Casper, Wyoming.
Marie was born on October 10, 1942, daughter of Herman and Mary A. (Ebsen) Hoeck in Laramie, Wyoming. She grew up in Rex, Wyoming. When she enrolled in Laramie High School, she moved into her grandmother’s home until she graduated. She then earned her teaching degree.
On July 3, 1966, Marie married Edward “Ed” Wayne Colgan in Laramie, Wyoming. The couple soon moved to Shoshoni, where Marie worked as a teacher until 1989. She then proceeded to work for Precision Outdoor, as a rural mail carrier in Shoshoni as well as for CES.
Mrs. Colgan loved reading, crocheting, playing card games, camping and especially spending time with her dear grandchildren.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Shoshoni, Wyoming.
Survivors include her sons, Eric and his wife, Chrystal Colgan and Justin Colgan; grandchildren, Morgan Colgan, Justin Michael and great grandchild, Caelum Burton; brother, Kenneth Hoeck and sister, Christine Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
