Jan L. Hubert of Rural Riverton died on Monday, July 25, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was 67. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. Pastor Richard Mills officiates. Jan Lee Lajiness was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Aug. 31, 1943, the daughter of Thorton Frank Lajiness and Lois (Cobley) Lajiness. She was graduated from Devilbiss High School in Toledo and attended Ohio Northern University for two years. She grew up in Toledo and moved to Wyoming in 1973. Her family said she lived in various places but always considered Wyoming as her home. Mrs. Hubert was a housewife and mother, having married Jim Hubert in Lander on June 24, 1977. Of the Christian faith, Mrs. Hubert attended the Set Free Church in Riverton. She won awards for her drawings and poems. In addition to art work in drawing and oils and writing poetry, the family said Mrs. Hubert enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, sewing, quilting, gardening, raising her family and grandchildren, and loved animals, especially cows. Survivors include daughters, Rebecca Dankert and her husband Richard and Rachel Howell and her husband John; sons, Dusty Tank and his wife Terri, Archie Tank, Jimmy Hubert and his wife Anna, and Christopher Hubert; nine grandchildren, Autumn Elliott, Artie Elliott, Brad Robison, Sheldon Manchester, Michael Jackson, Amy Tank, Canaan Tank, David Hubert, and Dustyn Hubert; great grandchildren, Malachi Bandy-Schmidt and Dominic Pacard; a brother, Michael Lajiness and his wife Jane; a brother-in-law, Sam Hubert; sister-in-law, Vi Leeper; niece Jenny Cady and nephew Brian Lajiness. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim Hubert.
