Fort Washakie native Esther C. Allen of Casper died in Casper on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at the age of 80. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with the Rev. Echo Klaproth officiating. Interment is in the Collins Cemetery.

Esther Chamberlein was born in Fort Washakie on June 26, 1931, to Jesse Raymond Chamberlein and Esther (Collins) Chamberlein. She lived all her life in Wyoming and grew up in a family of 13 girls. Mrs. Allen was a housewife, having married Bruce Gerald Allen on Jan. 5, 1947, in Riverton. Her family said she enjoyed a close relationship with her friends and family and liked to fish and garden. Survivors include her sons, Dale Allen and wife Mely of Casper and Larry Allen and wife Vicki of Lost Cabin; daughters, Loreen Anderson and husband Jerry, and Jackie Sevier and husband Jim of Seneca, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Bruce Dale, Tera Casey, Dawn, Chessney, Jesse, Brandi, and Brody; four great grandchildren, Jymie, Haytch, Alyssa, and Kelton; sisters, Hazel Schlencke and Darlene Chabo and husband Dorsey, all of Riverton, Fern Luster and husband Don of Stillwater, Okla, and Anne McIntosh and husband Earnesto of Arapahoe; numerous nieces and nephews; a special family member, Candy Brewer of Farmington, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Gerald Allen; her parents, and eight sisters, Faye Mann, Jean Slattery, Joy Taylor, Ellen Givens, baby Jodie, and three infant sisters.
