Richard George Killinger was born on April 1, 1929 in Findlay, Ohio, son of George and LaVaughn (Downing) Killinger.

Richard, age 84, passed away October 21, 2013 at his home in Lander Monday morning after a struggle with Alzheimer’s.

Richard was born and educated in Ohio; He was a Staff Sergeant with the Air Force during the Korean War. He met and married his wife while stationed in Minnesota and returned to Ohio after his discharge. The family moved to Lander in 1971, when Richard was transferred by The US Department of Agriculture. He loved the mountains, camping and hunting, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He loved to play cards and pool and work crossword puzzles. Richard enjoyed building things and was quite a craftsman with wood working. He loved watching his children and grandchildren’s ball games. He was always willing to lend a hand to friends and neighbors.

Richard is survived by two brothers, three sisters, his four children, Linda and Jim Secrist (West Weber Utah), Tom Killinger (Lander), Patricia Wilkinson, (Lander), Tim and Marcia Killinger (Lander), ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and his wife Ruby Carol (Hewitt) Killinger.
