Willis “Duke” D. Hereford, 80 of Fort Washakie died Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home. A wake will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rocky Mountain Hall. Funeral services will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Rocky Mountain Hall at Fort Washakie. Cremation will follow the service.

Willis Duane Hereford was born April 8, 1934 in Fort Washakie to Sherman and Hazel (LaJeunesse) Hereford. He lived all his life at Fort Washakie.

His family said he enjoyed camping, hunting, rodeoing, attending Sundance, Horse Racing and Relays.

He worked as a custodian and maintenance at the Chief Washakie Plunge, Bill McKinney roofing, Oilfield work, and was a Ranchhand and Cowboy.

He is survived by is companion of over 50 years, Arlene Pogoree, three sons, Alton Hereford, TJ Hereford and wife Alice, and Curtis Hereford; five grandchildren, Leland, Daphne, Johnny, Jessica, and Antone; three great grandchildren, Blue Sky Hereford, Windy Rain White, and Majestic Willis Hereford; brother, Robert Hereford, Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; three brothers, Victor, Jackie, and Stanley; five sisters, Emma Jean Bell, Charlotte Waterman, Ella B. Hereford, Louise Thompson, JoAnn Nowlin, and Marcela Hereford.
