Reva Lane, 87, of Riverton, died on Friday, March 13, 2015, in Cheyenne, WY. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 10:00 am at Davis Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Reva Ruth Seal was born on December 18, 1927 in Fruita, CO to William Henry and Ruth Delberta (Boughton) Seal. She was the only daughter out of six children. She was raised in Fruita, CO and graduated from Fruita Union High School.
On June 30, 1946 she married Robert “Bob” Lane at her family home in Fruita, CO. Together they raised five children, one daughter and four boys. In 1959, the family moved to Riverton, WY where she lived until 2012 when she moved to Cheyenne to live with her daughter and favorite son-in-law.
She was of the Christian faith and was very strong in her beliefs. She and her husband, Bob, studied to be ministers and were youth leaders for many years.
She was a hard working waitress and loved every minute of it. She loved interacting with people and never knew a stranger.
She and her husband were foster parents to five children officially but unofficially they were “foster” parents to many different children. She also was very involved in organizing her class reunions.
She loved family reunions, the annual family camping trips, and loved doing things with her family, especially driving with them and looking at scenery. She enjoyed collecting carnival glass and jewelry.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Fritz and her husband Ed of Cheyenne, WY; her sons, Victor Lane and his wife, Chris of Riverton, WY, Virgil Lane and his wife, Paula of Cheyenne, WY, John Lane and his wife Debora of Salt Lake City, UT, and Kevin Lane and his companion, Sherry Vigil of Riverton, WY; her brothers, Ora Seal of Hood River, OR and Ubert Seal and his wife RoseMarie of Hazelton, British Columbia, Canada; her sister-in-law, Verna Seal of Fruita, CO; her brother-in-law, Arnold Owens of Pasadena, CA; and her 12 grandchildren, Aaron (Jenna) Lane, Jason (Carissa) Lane, Rob Lane, Josh Lane, Daniel (Brianna) Lane, Heidi (Lance) Thompson, Amber (Dave) Pajewski, Denise Lane, Brittany(Jeremy) Hoover, Brandon (Arriana) Fritz, Anthony Fritz, and Brandi Lane; and her nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert “Bob” Lane; her parents, William and Ruth Seal; her three brothers, Roy Seal, Kenneth Seal, and Earl Seal; and one great granddaughter.
