Juan Roman, Jr.

Juan Roman, Jr.

Aug 20, 2015 - Aug 20, 2015
Juan Roman Jr., better known as Johnny Roman, peacefully took his journey on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10:30 am in his home. He went out with his boots and hardhat on, the way that he wanted. Celebration of his life will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Great Plains Hall with a wake to follow at the Roman Ranch, #9 Miller Lane. He will be laid to rest at Black Coal Cemetery, on Saturday morning at 10:00 am, in the Arapaho way.

Johnny was born and raised in Arapahoe, WY on June 5, 1955 to Juan Roman Sr. and Theresa Duran Roman. He gave a better part of his life to the oilfield for 33 years, a pusher to many a man in this community. He was an amazing father, hilarious brother, hell-raising best friend, most favorite uncle, and a praying man. Johnny became an active member of the Native American Church letting everyone know that “all you can do is pray” even if “there’s nothing magical about it”.

He is survived by his eldest son Ben Brown, his ex-best friend Lynn “Lynny” Menchaca whom he wed after the wonderful and undeniable arrival of Jesse Roman. He is preparing them grounds for his “baby” Yolanda Hanser and her husband Michael Hanser Jr., his “Joe” Francisco Roman and his wife Molly Roman, and his “protester” Anita McLaughlin and her husband Paul McLaughlin Sr. He loved and prayed nightly for his grandchildren Michaela Littleshield, Kylee Littleshield, Caleb Roman, “Action” Jaxson Tilghman, Esperansa “Hopie” Roman, Kail “bug” Hanser, Tavy “Tavers” Hanser, baby Juan “Itty Bitty” Roman, baby Paul McLaughlin and his newest great-grandson Julius Merton. All his life he raised hell with his best friend Dennis Jones and “the wild bunch”. In his later life, he prayed hard with his brothers Delmar Duran, Danny Romero, Bobby Joe Goggles, Crawford White, Larry White, and George Leonard to name a few.

He is the first of his siblings to take that journey, leaving behind his sisters Lupe Pingree, Alicia Espinoza, and Mary Apodaca. He worked hard and played hard alongside his brothers Fernando Roman, Ruben Roman, Robert Roman and Antonio Roman. Johnny made sure to help and love every one of his nieces and nephews because that was his way, to show a lot of love through laughter without judgement. Johnny Roman was no stranger to anybody in this community. In fact, you could not get through the store without Johnny stopping to visit around with everyone he saw. When he left this world, he joined his mother Theresa Duran Roman, who he missed more than anybody can imagine, and his father Juan Roman Sr. He will be getting a good lecture from his grandparents Mary Armajo Duran and Joseph Duran Sr. for all of the extra fun that he brought into this world.
