Gayle E. Sexton, 68, of Riverton, died on September 2, 2015, at home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton United Methodist Church. Pastor Echo Klaproth will officiate. Inurnment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Gayle E. Cooper was born on May 26, 1947 in Riverton, Wyoming to Dale and Darlene (Schmuck) Cooper. She was the oldest of three children. She was raised in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1965. She lived in Riverton all of her life except for two years she spent the summers in the Philippines and in Oak Harbor, Washington.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and helped with Vacation Bible School, also volunteering at St. Margaret’s School as Librarian when her children were young and attended school there.

Her career was providing a safe and nurturing environment for the numerous children she loved and cared for. Her family said that she loved children; jig saw puzzles, crossword puzzles, her flowers, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her children, Courtney Dale Sexton and his wife, Danielle, of San Francisco, CA and Bret Porter Sexton and his wife, Danielle, of Denver, CO; her brother, Craig Cooper and his wife, Carol, of Riverton; sister Colleen Anderson and her husband, Clyde, of Riverton; her nephews, Chris Cooper and his wife, Cori; Geoff Cooper and his wife, Julie; Kyle Anderson and his wife, Susie; and Grant Anderson; and her nieces, Erin Castle, and Cathy Rosenthal and her husband, Shane; several great nieces and nephews, the family of children she cared for, her special friends Don, Jeannie, Katelynn, Tyler, and Emily Julian, and her faithful lifelong friend, Sharon Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents and her great niece, Cassidy Cooper.

Memorials may be made to the ALS Association Rocky Mountain Foundation in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
