Michelle Joyce Brown, 39, of Arapahoe passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016..

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at St. Stephens Mission with Father Jim officiating. Interment will follow at Whiteplume Cemetery, Ethete WY. A rosary will be held along with the wake at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Great Plains Hall, WY.

Michelle was born on May 23, 1977 in Casper WY to the late Jerry (Bird) Brown and Elvina Buckman.

Michelle was a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and the Catholic Church.

Michelle resided in Arapahoe WY. Michelle also resided in Portland OR, Tacoma WA, Billings, MT, Browning MT, Fort Washakie WY, Riverton, WY and Colorado Springs CO.

She attended Central Wyoming College where she received her Associates Degree in Accounting and received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Wyoming.

Michelle was an Oil and Gas Auditor for the S&A Tribes for two years, worked as an accountant for the Wind River Casino for two years and worked for H&R Block doing people’s tax returns for many years.

Michelle enjoyed creating various works of art using her beadwork, of which she took pride in. Michelle enjoyed spending her time with her children, watching them play sports, camping and swimming with her family. She was a good mother to her children and an awesome cook. She helped care for her family members. She was an avid swimmer, and enjoyed the summer weather. She loved barbequing and visiting with family and friends. Michelle loved to travel and see new places. She like to read and enjoyed the teaching of the Dalai Lama. One of her favorite quotes is “Our prime purpose in life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.” Michelle also enjoyed learning and practicing her cultural ways. She also liked studying Astrology – looking at the stars and reading books.

Michelle was survived by her son(s) Salvador M. Brown of Arapahoe WY, Martin K. Blackburn, Jr. and Reece Blackburn of Tacoma, WA and one daughter, Anna Mae Blackburn of Tacoma, WA; Brothers, Al Martin (Suzette Seminole) Brown, Hudson WY, Bryan (Agnes) Brown, Arapahoe WY, and Myka (Janielle) Blackburn; Nieces Alana, Martina, Laura Brown, Mia and Mayla Blackburn, and Princesa Brown; Nephews James and Myka Blackburn and Patrick Brown. Grandmothers Eva Mead, and Flossie Brown, Riverton WY; Grandfathers Wayne (Connie) Brown, St. Stephens WY; Maternal Aunts Leona, Beatrice, and Marion Buckman, Albuquerque NM, Elva Running Crane, Spokane WA, Georgetta Revere, Arapahoe WY and Shirley Buckman; Maternal uncles Clayton RunningCrane Spokane WA, Leo and Wesley Monroe, Leonard and George Moss; Paternal Aunts Alvina Aragon, Valerie Friday, Luella Monroe, Lou Oldman, Terry Teran, Pam SixFeathers and Benita Smith; paternal uncles Frank Mead, Howard Brown, Steven M. Oldman, Sr. Harbor Springs MI, Virgil Oldman and Curtis Oldman, Sr. Riverton WY, Al Addison, Sr., Norman Willow, Sr., and Bryan Trosper; God Parents Kenny and Polly Redfield Riverton WY; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brother Walter Brown, niece Mary Jane Blackburn; father Jerry Brown; grandparents John and Laura Buckman, Maria Oldman, Roseline Addison and Ruben Jenkins; uncles Ernest Oldman, Sr., Alfred and Edward Buckman, and George and Teddy Washington; aunts Phyllis Tillman, Betty Ann Addison, Ramona White, Nellie Daney and Lavina Brown; numerous relations.
