Funeral services for Benjamin “Benny” John Piper, Jr. “Red Pipe”, 52, will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17th at St. Stephens Catholic Church with Deacon Bryce Lungren officiating. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 16th at Great Plains Hall with a wake to follow.

Mr. Piper died on Sunday, Feb 11, 2018 in Riverton, Wyoming.

He was born on July 1, 1965, in Pineridge, S.D., son of Benjamin John Piper, Sr. and Pauline Ground Spider Piper.

Benny was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation, who graduated from the Wyoming Indian High School. He was known for being a generous, loving, caring Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa and Loyal Friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also liked to watch his favorite football team, the Raiders, and the newest movies that came out. Benny also enjoyed watching and playing softball and hanging out, sitting, talking with his brothers, sisters and many friends. Playing the slot machines at the Casino was also something he enjoyed doing.

Benny had many jobs as a laborer, wildland firefighter, and seismography.

Survivors include his sons, Cameron Piper and Cory Piper; daughters, Courtney Piper and Katrina Piper; daughter-in-law, Ashly Piper; brothers, Benjamin Oldman, Otto Oldman, Charlie C’Hair, Mitchel Piper, Wilbur Antelope, Christopher SunRhodes, Houston Headley, Sr., Lance Oldman, Harold Littlebear, Donald Sharp, Julian C’Hair, Chauncey Friday, Theodore Goggles, Paul Bell, Alojisus Piper, Brian Bell, Michael Lucero, Maurice Piper, and George Sitting Eagle ; sisters, Carol Friday, Muriel C’Hair, Natalie SunRhodes, Johnette Piper, Lavone Oldman, Charlene Yellowfox, Cassandra Goggles, and Rosetta Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jasmine, Imanie, Alassandra, Carols, Chloe, Ashten, Brilynn Moss, Katisha, Kenneth Shakespear III, Harmony, Alsina SunRhodes.
