Darrell Steenbock

No services are scheduled for lifelong Fremont County resident, Darrell Dean Steenbock, 77, who died on February 8, 2019 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Darrell was born on November 20, 1941 in Lander, Wyoming, son of Ezra T. and Velma M. (Schmuck) Steenbock.

Darrell grew up in the Missouri Valley on the family farm while attending the Shoshoni School, graduating in 1959. He then attended Casper College, receiving his Associates Degree.

On January 26, 1963, Darrell married Patsy Faye Bartlett at the Riverton United Methodist Church.

Mr. Steenbock farmed his entire life on his John Deere tractors. He was a sheep farmer, while also farming fields of beets, alfalfa, barley, beans and corn. Darrell was known to be a Ford man as well as an avid John Deere toy collector.

In 1974, he won “Outstanding Young Farmer Award.” Throughout the years, Darrell received many awards and certificates, mainly for his generous contributions to various charities including The Miracle Network, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Feed the Hungry Kids, etc.

While he and his sister were growing up, the family attended the Pavillion Methodist Church along with the MYF program.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy of the family home in Riverton; sister, Beverly and her husband, Dean Trembath of Riverton; daughter, Lisa Dawn Steenbock of Corpus Christy, TX and one grandson, Tyrell Elliott of Raleigh, NC.

Mr. Steenbock was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
