William G. "Bill" King Riverton died on Monday morning, Nov. 9, 2009, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He was 80.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

William Gulik King was born in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, on March 2, 1929, the son of Donald Storrs King and Helen (Gulik) King.

He received his Bachelor's degree from Colorado College and Master's degree in geology from Boston University.

He married Josephine Jons on Nov. 17, 1957, in Riverton.

Mr. King was a geologist who worked for Federal American Partners, having come to Riverton with the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in 1956. He later did private consulting.

His family said Mr. King was passionate about his work, enjoyed reading, rocks and minerals.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine King of Riverton; three nieces; sisters-in-law, Patti Anderson of Riverton, Katheryn Roelfsema of Iowa, and Eileen Coursey of Iowa.

He was preceded his death by his parents, and a sister, Helen Dalphin.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Home or Help for Health bus, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main, Riverton, WY 82501.
