Funeral services for W. Travis Bennett of Riverton will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. The Rev. John Herrington will officiate with eulogy by Jim White. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton with Masonic committal rites. Mr. Bennett died at his home on Rendezvous Road Saturday evening, June 23, 2007. He was 68 years old. William Travis Bennett was born in Wheatland on Dec. 16, 1939, the son of Albert Armstrong Bennett and Grace Elizabeth (Cunningham) Bennett. He was graduated from Worland High School in 1956. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Bennett worked as a carpenter. He married Edie Hunsburger in Hollywood, Calif., on June 15, 1957. They came to Riverton in 1961. His family said Mr. Bennett enjoyed black powder shooting, hunting, and fishing. They said he enjoyed his service through the Masonic Lodge and watching his grandchildren in their sports activities. He was a 32nd degree Mason and past master of the Riverton Lodge No. 26, A.F.&A.M. Mr. Bennett was of the Episcopal faith. Survivors include his wife, Edie Bennett of Riverton; son, Homer Grant Bennett and his wife Tina of Star Valley, Rob Bennett and wife Tracy of Laramie, and Kevin Bennett and wife Stacey of Riverton; grandchildren, Kiley, Cedric, Dillon, Garrison, and Abegail Bennett; a sister, Debbie Chase of Las Vegas, Nev.; close friends, Jim and Karen White; brother- and sister-in-law, Homer and Dot Hunsburger of Riverton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
