Memorial services for Ronnie L. Hood of Riverton were Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 17, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton, with the Rev. Mark Shaklee officiating.

Cremation has taken place.

Mr. Hood died at Riverton Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning, Aug. 14, 2010, at the age of 64.

Ronnie Leonard Hood was born in Denver, Colo., on Feb. 13, 1946, the son of Carl Leonard Hood and Vivian Violet (Lee) Hood.

He was baptized into the Lutheran faith.

He spent most of his life in Colorado, moving to Riverton in October of 2009, to be closer to this mother.

On June 22, 2008, he married Melody Jo Jack in Commerce City, Colo.

He was a professional bull rider from his mid-teenage years, achieving the Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs. He was all-around professional bull rider in 1978, with an average of 92.

Mr. Hood retired from the railroad at the age of 62.

Mr. Hood was a 35-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Commerce City.

Survivors include his wife, Melody of Riverton; sons, Ronnie, Jr., of Colorado and Kenny Hood of Virginia; daughter, Pam Gutierrez of Colorado; nephews, Tony Hood and wife Diane and Gary Lindley and wife Ronda, all of Riverton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his mother, Vivian Hood of Riverton; brothers, Louie Hood and Mike Hood of Commerce City, Colo., and Lonnie Shrum of California; a sister, Lucille Hood of Riverton; numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1988 and by his first wife, Barbara Joe.
