Mary Jane "Janie" Fenton

Mary Jane "Janie" Fenton of rural Shoshoni died on Friday, March 25, 2011, at her home. She was 84.

Graveside services will be at the Freeland Cemetery near Casper in the summer.

Mary Jane Brewer was born on the Brewer Ranch near Powder River on Dec. 25, 1926, the daughter of William C. and Leora (Hughes) Brewer. She was graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper and attended the University of Wyoming for a year.

On March 12, 1949, she married Charles A. Fenton, Sr.

Mrs. Fenton had ranched in the Powder River, Waltman, and Highland areas with her husband and they later farmed in the Hidden Valley area near Shoshoni.

She was of the Christian faith. Her family said Mrs. Fenton's interests included her family, coin collecting, yard work, and ranch work.

Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Fenton, Sr.; a son, Charles A. Fenton, Jr. and his wife Connie; grandchildren, Jake Fenton and his wife Jennifer, Merci Hake and her husband Duane, Calvin Fenton and his wife Nicole, Chad Hazelton and his wife Diana; great grandchildren, Sienna, Kyrra, and Caden Fenton, Brett and Blade Hake, and Tanner and Sara Fenton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Cleveland Fenton; brothers, Dan Miller and Bill Brewer; sisters, Wilma and Dellie.
