Daniel W. 'Big Dan' Williams, Jr.

Williams, Jr., Daniel W. "Big Dan"

Alma, Robin, and Joy

Mary and I got a call from Brenda Morris last evening telling us of Dan's passing. We extend our condolences and deepest sympathiesto each of you. Dan had a big heart and a passion for life, one of those "give you the shirt off his back..." kind of guys. We certainly appreciated all the times that we had the opportunity to stop and visit and the way you guys always made us feel at home.

I'm sure Dan will be missed in the community because I know that Mary and I will miss him; just a great guy.

May you take comfort in God's holy word, and may God's blessings continue upon you.

Love, Dean and Mary

Alma and girls: I am not sure you will remember us. My daughter Tanya and I were in the Make It With Wool contest with Joy sometime ago. I am so sorry to here that Dan has passed, what a wonderful citizen of Fremont County we have lost. When your family had the business in Lander we did business for years when we owned our sawmill. It is so difficult to loose a husband, father and beloved friend. Just relish the wonderful family times that you have had and talk alot about them, it may ease the pain. May the Lord Keep you at this time of sorrow.

Alma, Robin, Joy,

My prayers are with you. Dan gave so much to so many he will be greatly missed by all of us. Dan was more than a boss while I worked for BMI, he was my mentor, teacher and most importantly a good friend to me and my family. God Bless you!

Alma,Robin,Joy & extended family:

We was so surprised to hear about the death of Danny. My brother Jeff was told by a good friend of ours that grew up in Charleston.

When I saw Danny, Alma and family back in 1984 in Morgantown I was thrilled. I was so happy to talk to Danny about our family in Summers,Raleigh and Kanawha Counties. Then throughout the years calling and talking to him on the phone. Since his uncle Rufus Williams was my great grandfather.

Our prayers are with you all. May the Lord watch over you during this time of sorrow.

We would just like to express our gratitude and appreciation for our Granddaddy and our children's Great Grandaddy. Even though our relationship was limited to a few visits and regular phone calls, the Williams family in West Virginia will remember him through pictures and stories passed on from other family members. Granddad's generosity and willingness to stay in touch across the miles will always be near to our hearts. Whether receiving a Christmas gift in the mail, or a phone call on our birthdays, Grandaddy always kept us close his heart. Our most treasured memories of him are from our family vacation to Wyoming, where he opened up his home and world to us. His memory will continue in West Virginia because we all know he is truly a Mountaineer at heart. We wish we could share this time and pay our respects to you Grandaddy. We Love you!

To all of the Williams' family,
I will always remember the times spent at the Williams' home in Wyoming. Dan welcomed me during the time that I spent playing football for the Wyoming Cowboys in the 70's. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Alma, Joy and Robin,
I just heard of Dan's passing and I am deeply saddened. I worked with Dan for years and would drop by to see him after we moved and it always a joy to see him. What a great loss for us all.
Our son was the raffle winner of a colt Dan donated to the horse club. Mason was thrilled and Dan's generosity extended beyond the colt as he was so helpful with everything.
As the service is an hour away and I am four hours away I cannot attend but I would love to have been able to make it.
Dan was a great man and will be greatly missed.
Alma, I didn't know this but you two were married the day I was born so my birthday will have more meaning and will be a reminder....
Godspeed,
Paul, Suzee, Ashlee & Mason Stafford
