Phyllis Britain, 87, of Lysite, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at the Help for Health Hospice Home. A funeral will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 1:30 pm at the Shoshoni Senior Citizens Center. A viewing will be held a half-hour before the service. Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland at 2:00 pm.
Phyllis Jean Birch was born on July 16, 1927 in Worland, WY to Thomas Lester and Iola Pearl (Schlosser) Birch. She was one of seven children, five boys and two girls. She grew up in Worland and attended schools in Lucerne and graduated from Thermopolis High School. She moved to Fremont County in 1947 and stayed until her passing.
On April 2, 1948 she married Joseph B. Britain in Thermopolis, WY. Together they raised three children.
Her family said that she loved reading, word search puzzles, sewing, embroidering, and quilting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. Mason of Riverton; her sons, Robert J. Britain of Lysite, and Britt Britain of Riverton; her brother, Robert W. Birch of Camas, WA; her grandchildren, Jenny Mason of Riverton, Kristi (Justin) Kellerman of Grand Island, NE, Becky Barker and companion, Trevor, Billie (Mike) Phillips, Cheryl Hahne of Sheridan, Cassidy Britain and fiancé, Will of Guernsey, Joe Britain and fiancé, Kristen Brown of Riverton, and Dusty Britain of Lysite; and her great grandchildren, Kaylee Leseberg, Ashton Barker, and Cade Britain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Britain; her parents, Thomas and Iola Pearl Birch; and four brothers and one sister.
