Doris Eileen (Lawhead) Miller, 74, of Guernsey, Wyoming passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 under the care of Hospice at the home of Tom and Tammy Reed in Dubois, Wyoming. At her wish, she was cremated. She was of the Christian Faith and is at home with our Lord, Jesus Christ. A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at a later date.

Doris was born February 3, 1941, in Neligh, Nebraska the daughter of Gilbert Scalph and Dorothy Eileen (Palmer) Hauf and later adopted by Orville C. Lawhead.

Shortly thereafter they moved to Guernsey, Wyoming where she was raised and graduated from Guernsey High School in 1959.

Doris married Robert L. Fletcher of Guernsey in 1959 and from this union of 13 years they raised two daughters, Sherry D. Fletcher and Tammy Y. (Fletcher) Reed.

Doris married William C. Frederick in 1972 and they resided at the Frederick Ranch five miles east of Guernsey for 26 years until Bill’s passing in 1998.

Doris married Jerry D. Miller in 2001 and they resided 4 miles west of Guernsey for 14 years until Jerry’s passing on March 31, 2015.

Some of her hobbies included sewing, reading, poetry, camping, and fishing. She wrote and published two western fiction novels in 2010 and 2012 titled The Skylars. She and Jerry greatly enjoyed spending time with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Seth.

Doris is survived by her sisters, Linda (Jim) Connors of Texas and Dona (Don) Smoot of Washington, daughters Sherry D. Fletcher and Tammy Y. (Tom) Reed of Dubois, Wyoming, grandchildren, Derek B. Faller of Lincoln, Nebraska and Breanna L. (Jason) Peck of Lander, Wyoming. Other survivors include 5 step children and 12 step grandchildren.

In addition to William Frederick and Jerry Miller, preceding Doris in death were her parents and her brother Gene Lawhead.
