David “Dave” Meserve
December 18, 1960 – November 1, 2025

David “Dave” Meserve, 64, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

He was born on December 18, 1960, in Gillette, Wyoming, the son of James Barnard Meserve and Tressa Hazel (Moore) Meserve. Dave grew up in Gillette, where his family owned a ranch outside of town. He graduated from Campbell County High School with the Class of 1979 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1983.

Dave was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very active in his congregation. On August 21, 2016, he married the love of his life, Marla Mae Jordan, at Jaycee Park in Riverton.

He worked for the Bureau of Land Management in surveying and later as a mechanical engineer for Apex. Dave and Marla shared many interests, including gardening, canning, and cheering on their grandchildren and the University of Wyoming sports teams. He enjoyed fishing, hunting prairie dogs and antelope, and was an active member of the Riverton community. Dave served on the board of the Riverton Food Bank and loved attending auctions and estate sales—an appreciation that began in his youth helping at farm auctions. Above all, he had a deep love for animals and the simple joys of country life.

He is survived by his children, Cory Landis, Alan Landis and wife Nina, Danielle Landis-St. John, and Amber Landis; sister, Linda Meserve; brother, Dan Meserve and wife Ronnie; brother-in-law, Larry Jordan and wife Judy; sister-in-law, Amy Peterson and husband Bob; eleven grandchildren, Britney (Justin) Wood, Tyler Landis, Trenton Landis, Paige (Robin) McElhaney, Brett (Katelyn) St. John, Collin (Sierra) St. John, Alan Landis Jr., Brianna Landis, Cora Lee Landis, Elijah Landis, and Gage McDonald; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Tressa Meserve; his beloved wife, Marla Jordan; and son, Byron Landis.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – College Branch, 3100 W.
