Harold “Glen” Kummer
December 24, 1967 – November 4, 2025
Harold “Glen” Kummer, 57, of Lander, Wyoming passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Born on December 24, 1967, Glen grew into a quiet, steady, and calm presence—genuine, selfless, always helpful and giving to everyone around him. His greatest passions in life were motorcycles, his kids, his grandkids, and the military. He was a loving husband to Linda Kummer for 39 years, and together they raised three boys who were his whole world: Kevin, Kyle, and Kasey.
Glen proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of sergeant and deployed overseas during Desert Storm. His years of service shaped his strong work ethic, deep sense of responsibility, and lasting respect for all who wear the uniform. He spent eight years on active duty, stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado, Fort Wainwright in Alaska, and Fort Benning in Georgia, and completed the remainder of his service of twelve years with the National Guard in Lander, Wyoming.
After his military service, Glen worked for a period of time at the Fremont County Jail, where he continued to serve his community with the same steady, dependable presence people knew him for. Being a mechanic and running a tow company became a huge part of Glen’s life and of our small Fremont County community. If someone was stuck, broken down, or in need of a hand, it was often Glen who showed up—wrench in hand, tow truck ready, and not much more said than what needed to be.
At home and in the hills, Glen’s greatest joy was hunting especially with his kids and grandkids. Some of his best days were spent out in the country with them—early mornings, cold fingers, a good layer of mud, and always the hopeful plan of getting off the mountain without getting stuck. Half the fun was the adventure (and the stories that came with it), and watching his grandkids grow, learn, and tag along on those hunts lit him up in a way his family will never forget.
Glen is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Kevin (Justine), Kyle (Shelby), and Kasey (Elizabeth); and his beloved grandchildren: Kadance, Erik, Evin, Kevin, Kelly, Karter, Raegan, Brynlee, and Kendall; his mother, Teresa; brother, Sam; sister, Anna; best friends Dale (Dusty); and second cousin, Rob (Jane).
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Joe, his son, Kelly; and Grandparents Glen and Anna Hansen.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Hudson Fire Hall. Cremation has taken place.
