Philip Hogan, 90, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Wheatland, Wyoming. Memorial services will be held in the Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13th, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joshua Bruns officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Honors.
Philip Campbell Hogan was born on September 27, 1935, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Campbell N. and Lenore A. (Phillips) Hogan. He spent his early years in Tulsa, as well as in Kansas and Colorado, while his father worked in the oilfields.
He graduated from Marquette High School in Tulsa in 1953 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in English Education from Southern Illinois University in 1959.
In 1953, Philip enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War but was medically discharged after six months of service.
On December 19, 1987, Philip married Dorothy Koewers at St. John Lutheran Church in Riverton, Wyoming.
Throughout his career, Philip worked as a sales engineer in the oil industry, taking him to various states including Wyoming, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. In 1987, he also spent time living in Michigan while driving truck and spent 15 years living in Casper. Phil and Dorothy moved to Riverton, Wyoming, in 2005.
Phil had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, dancing, and spending time with family. He was a proud member of several organizations, including Riverton Elks Lodge #1693, the American Legion, and Fremont Michigan Moose Lodge #1550.
Survivors include his sons, Shaun Hogan of Fort Collins, CO and Alan (Chen Jing) Hogan; daughters, Angela (R.J.) Vassar and Colleen Hogan; step-daughter, Brenda (David) Stringham of Riverton, WY; step-sons, Ronald Chiles (Carla) of Brighton, CO, Phillip Chiles of Riverton, WY, Troy Chiles (Annette) of Fredrick, CO; sister, Janet (Raymond) Brown of Fredricksburg, TX; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Dorothy in February of 2013; daughter, Amy Murphy and brother, John C. Hogan.
