Robin Dean McCoy, 65, of Billings, Montana died Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. No services will be conducted, but a celebration of life will be planned in July during the balloon rally, one of his favorite things to do in Riverton.

Robin was born in Riverton, Wyoming on July 7, 1960 to Bernard and Frances McCoy, the 10th of eleven children. He grew up in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1978.

After graduation, Robin enlisted in the Navy, and spent four years stationed at Lemoore Naval Base in California. He traveled across the Pacific to Hawaii and Japan, through East Asia, and to Iran during the hostage situation.

He met Medori Pfeiffer and they married on April 25, 1981. They had two sons together, Rome Ian “Bubba” born in 1982, and Rodrick Zachary ’’Ricky” born in 1985. They lived in Hanford, California for five years.

Robin and Dori later divorced; Robin and his two boys moved to Riverton. Robin worked for the Riverton Dairy for about 25 years. Later he and Dori became a couple again, and were together for over 28 years. He gained two more sons with this reunion, Randall Aaron, and Richard Matthew. After the dairy plant closed, Robin moved to Billings, MT to continue working for the dairy for about 15 more years. Robin also worked for Western Sugar and Sam’s Club in Billings.

Robin’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening, sports, and spending time with his four boys and Dori.

Robin is survived by his wife, Dori; his sons Ricky, Randal, and Richard; two grandsons, Ronnie Joe and Skyler; two granddaughters, Echo, and Nicole; two great grandchildren; six brothers, Tom (Carla), Ken (Maggie), Mike (Kathy), Wayne, Gayle (Martha), and Pat (Shari) McCoy; three sisters, Ruth Dickman, Rita (Mike) Allred, and Suzanne (JR) Weinrich; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; son Rorrie who died in 2019; brother Charles Edward; a brother-in-law, Gary Dickman; nephew, Snuffy; niece, Donielle, and numerous uncles and aunts.
