Roberta “Bobbie” Dion Yennie

Roberta “Bobbie” Dion Yennie, 87, of Kinnear, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2026 at the Davis Funeral Home in Riverton, Wyoming, with Reverend Sally Bub officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Bobbie was born on May 16, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, to Donald Terpstra and Viola (Heifner) Terpstra. During her childhood, she lived in several states including Iowa, Arizona, and California. She graduated from high school in Twin Falls, Idaho, and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Central Wyoming College in May 1986.
On February 14, 1957, Bobbie married the love of her life, Gerald Albert Yennie, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They shared 68 years of marriage and were blessed with three sons, Gerald, Jubal, and Thane. Bobbie was a devoted wife and mother, who sometimes cared for the three boys on her own as their young family moved routinely during Gerry’s military career. Military orders moved the family crisscrossing the United States from coast to coast and border to border and eventually they moved to Kinnear, Wyoming in 1974, where Gerald had been raised.
Bobbie worked in various secretarial positions throughout her career, including with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was employed with Farnsworth Insurance in Riverton and later served as secretary for the former Wind River High School from 1975 to 1980. She also worked for her son, Gerald Yennie Jr.
She enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling with her husband, and custom sewing. Bobbie operated her sewing business under the RDY name “Ready to Wear,” as well as under her full name, Roberta Dion Yennie. She was a member of the Riverton Country Club Women’s Association and Holy Nativity Episcopal Church at Morton, WY.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Gerry, of the family home in Kinnear; her sons, Gerald Yennie Jr. and wife Kim of Riverton, Wyoming, Jubal Yennie and wife Denise of Denver, Colorado, and Thane Yennie and wife Jean of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brother, Ron Terpstra and wife Eileen of California; eight grandchildren, Audra, Alexis, Ashlynn, Jared, Marissa, Jeffrey, Sara, and Krista; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one great-grandchild expected in March.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Terpstra and Viola Puckett; her three brothers, Don, Tom, and Bill Terpstra; and her sister, Marilyn.
