Christopher Shane Davis Posey Jr.

Christopher Shane Davis Posey Jr., known to most as Chris, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, as the result of a tragic car accident.
Chris was born on April 17, 1995, in Lander, Wyoming, to Christopher Shane Davis Posey Sr. and Yolanda June Chavez. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Washakie, Wyoming.
Chris worked as a security man at the Shoshone Rose Casino. Throughout his life, he also worked for the Shoshone Rose Casino, the Big Wind Casino, and Shoshone Housing.
Chris enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, and spending time at barbecues with family and friends. He was always willing to jump right in with his friends and also enjoyed playing video games. Chris will be remembered and deeply missed for his very funny and happy personality. He also very much enjoyed attending the Sundance ceremonies.
Chris is survived by his companion, Amber Aoah; his daughter, Sophia Posey; his mother, Yolanda Chavez; siblings, Christian and Natasha Posey, ; his maternal great-grandmother, Zella Guina; his grandparents, John Guina Jr., Orville and Lynette St. Clair, Davene Guina, Rita and Floyd Phillips, and Dennis and Doreen Chavez, Rose Siers, Ivan and Ernest Posey, Myron Littlebird; his living uncles, George Guina and Tad Chavez; and his aunts and uncles, Fiona Guina, Rachelle Nagashoa, Virginia (Howard) Posey Felter, Jolee (Craig) Red Cherries, Justin Revere, Waylon, Orrin, Terrence and Nolan Atkins; paternal grandmother, Pauline Posey; families including Posey, Chavez, Guina, Red Cherries, Littlebird, LittleTree, Siers, Underwood, and Bell. He was preceded in death by his father, Chris Posey, Sr.; his brother, Enrique Chavez Sr.; his aunt, Monique Guina; his uncles, Jared Guina, Brent Guina, and Erno Chavez Jr.; his relatives, James Guina, Uriah Guina, Manfred Guina, Roderick Guina, and Louise Chavez Jr.; his cousin, Tisso Guina; his maternal grandmother, Estalene Guina; his maternal grandfather, Erno O. Chavez; his maternal great-grandfather, John Guina Sr.; and his great-grandparents, Velma and Louis Chavez; grandparents, Wilson Atkins, Ruby Posey, Doris Posey, Nola Littlebear, Shirley Posey, Ruth Arthur; great grandparents, Maynard Dansyl, Sr., Daniel Posey, Sr., Mike Posey, Sr.; numerous family members.
A wake will be held 6:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, February 4, 2026, at Rocky Mountain Hall.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. Burial will follow at Sacajawea Cemetery.
