Neal was born February 27, 1971 to Gary and Leota (St.Clair) LaJeunesse in Thermopolis, Wyoming. He married his high school sweetheart Denise M. (Miller) LaJeunesse on July 18, 1992. The couple shared two children, Tamara E. (LaJeunesse) Duncan and Benjamin J. LaJeunesse.

Mr. LaJeunesse had a long career of 35 years in the auto parts industry in order to provide for his family. He was a true professional at everything that he set his mind to. Neal enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and ranching. He also embraced his traditional culture. He was always willing to help and guide others in learning about the Shoshone ways. Neal fought through all of his hardships and found joy in his family. His children were the light of his life and then later his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching his numerous nieces and nephews grow and have children of their own. In the last four years, Neal stepped in to help run the Miller family ranch. He took that on with the hard work and dedication that he treated everything in his life. He was loved and respected by many and he will always be remembered for his big heart and his care for others. When Neal passed, he was doing what he loved.
