Mary Sponheim, 78, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. Funeral services for Mary will be held at St Margaret’s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026, with a Vigil service with rosary on February 18, at 7:30 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton.
Mary Margaret (Moran) Sponheim was born June 5, 1947 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Stephen and Isabelle Moran. Mary grew up in Greeley, NE and Riverton. She graduated from St. Stephen’s High School in 1966. After high school Mary moved to Milwaukee, WI to study and work as a Radiologic Technician. In 1976 she returned to Riverton and met Bruce Sponheim and they were married later that year. Bruce and Mary had two sons, Paul and Chris. Sadly, Bruce passed away from cancer in 1984. Mary, Paul and Chris continued living in Riverton with Mary working in the radiology field until she retired in 2007.
Mary enjoyed her arts and crafts hobbies that included stained glass, quilting and stamping. She also enjoyed shopping, spending time with friends and travels with her son Chris.
Mary is survived by her son, Chris Sponheim of Frederick, CO; nieces and nephews; and a great group of friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bruce Sponheim; son, Paul Sponheim; parents, Stephen and Isabelle Moran; brother, Steven Moran; and in-laws.
