Menyan Lou Dresser, 46, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Menyan was born on October 27, 1979, in Riverton, Wyoming, to Dallas Lee Dresser and Nola Rae (Timbana) Dresser. She was raised in Arapahoe and attended St. Stephen’s High School and later Chemawa Indian Boarding School in Salem, Oregon. She also attended Central Wyoming College, where she studied psychology.
She lived in Arapahoe, Salem, Oregon, and Casper, Wyoming, before returning to Riverton. Menyan worked as a heavy equipment operator and was also a certified welder and construction flagger.
Menyan loved going to the casino, listening to oldies music, and was known as an excellent cook, especially preparing and butchering wild game. She enjoyed adventures, Pow wows, Indian horse relays, road trips, as well as hand games. She had a great sense of humor, was wise, and always had a smile that could brighten any room. Recently became a proud grandma, really enjoyed time with family and friends, creating meaningful memories.
She was a really close to her friend Marshall Friday, Jr. and they had been through a lot together and had a special bond.
She was baptized in the Catholic faith and was a proud member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe but was also a descendant of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, participating in traditional and ceremonial ways.
Menyan is survived by her sons, Messiah Dresser, Chester Friday and Robert E. Friday; daughters, Marlyee Friday, Karleen Friday, and Marsha Friday; her grandchild, Ina Brown; her siblings, Laura, Crystal, Dallas Dresser, Robin, and LittleRaven Oldman; her cousins, Kateri and Sami Dresser, Margaret, Demaree, Betty Sue, Eva, Tweet, and Jordan Dresser, Albert and Joseph Cones, Nathan and Rocky Thomas, and Dean and Dolan Niedo; her aunts and uncles, Sam and Kathy Dresser, Briger and Roberto Hanway, Michael and Clinton Monroe, Paul Jay and Alexander Waterman, Geneva Dupoint, Rachel and Rosetta Antelope, Arnella Oldman, Verlon Timbana, and Arlen and Francine Shoyo; her nieces and nephews, Tensha, Falling Star Whiteman, Amaura Duran, Jenessa and Genavecia Three Irons, Nola, Laliyan Dresser, Madison, Heaven Johnson, Taylee Dresser, Cheyenne, Rena Medicine Top, Kadance Dresser, Raylene Aragon, Jayden Three Irons, Shaw Whiteman Jr., Malaki Dresser, TJ Johnson, and Lamar Duran Jr.; and numerous extended family members from the Dresser, Timbana, Oldman, Shoyo, Panzatenga, Hebah, Hall, Antelope, Monroe, Bearing, Buckskins, and Potter families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Nola Dresser; her son, Oshea Friday; her brothers, Ryan Bell and Tyrell Teffan; her grandparents, Betty Sue Geimausaddle, Albert Dresser, Ina Blackfeet, Joseph Waterman, Robert Monroe, Azaela Hanway, Ada Whiteplume, Frank Timbana, and Matilda Timbana (Buckskin); her great-grandparents, Laura Monroe and Samuel Dresser; her aunts and uncles, Hazel Rooks, Albertine Cones, Donna Antelope, Leo Hanway Jr., Robert Monroe Jr., Clinton, Craig, and Jamie Timbana, and Vanessa Sitting Eagle; her cousin, Robert Thomas; her nephews, Leviticus Whiteman, Xando Three Irons, Raymond Antelope, and Cordell Potter; and other relatives including Lincus, Clinton Timbana, Craig Timbana, Jamie Timbana, and Vanessa Sitting Eagle.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Davis Funeral Home. A wake will follow at 755 Left Hand Circle. Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2026. Interment will follow at Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.
