Funeral services for Sterling Joseph Blackburn, 21, will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery in St. Stephens, Wyoming. A rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10th at St. Stephens Catholic Church, with a wake to follow at 100 C’Hair Lane.

Sterling was born May 30, 1991, in Riverton, Wyoming, son of Peter Joseph Blackburn, Sr. and Francine R. Shakespeare.

He attended schools in St. Stephens and attended Data Charter School in Albuquerque, NM and Job Corp in Utah. He lived in six different states while he was growing up, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and California.

He was very loved and raised and brought up by his grandmother, Lucy Blackburn at her home in Arapahoe. Her was very humorous, outgoing, caring, sociable, well-known, and enjoyed music. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, friends and family and enjoyed helping others. He is survived by his sisters, Dezarai Poston, Mary Blackburn, Lorenda Hanway, Shereah Blackburn, Kacey Blackburn and their families; brothers, Donald Hanway, James Blackburn and family, John Hanway and son, Peter “Homer” Blackburn Jr. and family, Seth Blackburn and son, Jerome Blackburn; mother, Francine R. Shakespeare; adopted mothers, Frances Blackburn and family, Lujuanna Antelope and boys, Jane Dewey and family, Angela Blackburn and family, Lucille Camargo; Godmother, Rhonda Headley and family; Godsisters, Jennifer Shakespeare and family, Lakesha, Julia and Leah; adopted children, Cy, Tae and Amyah Tindall; aunts, Germaine Shakespeare, Lisa Molash, Irene Houser, Monica Antelope, Judy Warren, Elsie Charging Crow, Sandra Shakespeare, Ramona Shakespeare, Brenda Hubbard; uncles, Melvin Blackburn, Joseph Thomas Blackburn, Jr., Martin Blackburn, Weldon Blackburn, Kenneth Blackburn, Jr., Robert Blackburn, Kevin Brown, Sr., Stanford Shakespeare, Richard Shakespeare, Raymond Dewey; grandparents, Kenneth and Evelina Blackburn, Patricia Snook, Bernice Emarthie, Mary Cowboy, Martha Brown and family, Alice Molash, and Helen Hanway, numerous nieces and nephews.
