Funeral services for Lauren Kurt Dewey, 54, will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Stephens Catholic Church with Father Phil Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at the Arapahoe Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8th at Great Plains Hall with a wake to follow at 72 Little Wind River Bottom Road.

Mr. Dewey died September 4, 2013 at the Riverton Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 28, 1959 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, son of Lloyd James and Edith (Smith) Dewey.

He served as an alter boy in his church during his early years.

Lauren attended the Hot Springs County High School and later received his GED.

He married Alva Menz on August 8, 2011 in Riverton, WY.

Mr. Dewey worked in siesmographing, truck driving, and also cooked for the Wind River Casino. He also worked in the oilfield, at the Arapaho Ranch and was a pipeline worker.

His family said that he was a huge Dallas Cowboy Fan.

He is survived by his wife, Alva, of the family home; his sons, Paul Dewey and family of Milwaukie, WI and Josh Dewey and family of OH; his daughter, Theresa Dewey of WI; his brothers, Gerald Dewey and family of Worland, Justin Dewey of Arapahoe, Marcus Dewey of Arapahoe, Jim Dewey and family of Casper, and Charles Dewey of Arapahoe; his sisters, Patti and family of Riverton and Velma and family of Marion IA; his adopted family Chico Her Many Horses and family, Pat Iron Cloud and family, Chris Eagle Hawk and family, and Rubenia Hernandez,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edith; his grandparents, Scott and Inez Dewey and Clarence and Catherine Smith; his sister, Maxine Lehman; and the brother and sisters of the Soldier Wolf family.
