Mar 3, 2015 - Mar 3, 2015
Mary Fisher, formerly of Riverton, died Tuesday, Feb 24, 2015, in Moscow, Idaho, of complications from pneumonia. She was 96 years old.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 13, in Thermopolis before the annual Baird family reunion.

Mary Fisher was born Feb 14, 1919, in Worland, the daughter of John (Pop) and Isa Baird.

Following the death of her husband in 2006, she moved from Riverton to Idaho where she was welcomed with affection into Paul Warnick’s extended family in Moscow.

In later years, she became the matriarch of the Baird family, and the highlight of her life each year was the Baird family reunion held each summer for the past 35 years in Thermopolis.

After moving to Moscow, Idaho, she lived independently at the Fairview Village Estates where her family said she enjoyed many afternoons and evenings playing pinochle and canasta with her friends and neighbors. She always appreciated the helpful and friendly staff at Fairview Village Estates.

Her family said she was a role model because of her positive outlook on life and her unwavering support and concern for her friends and family. They said she enjoyed spending time with them and enjoyed their e-mails and phone calls. She also liked rock hunting, hiking, reading and designing and sewing denim quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. They said she will be missed by her family and friends and will remain in their memories with loving affection.

She is survived by her children, Lenora Forgey of Casper, Ed Finch and his wife Jerilyn of Riverton, John Finch of Sheridan and Barbara Warnick and her husband Paul of Moscow, Idaho; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, three sisters and her husband, Art Fisher.
