Daniel “Dan” Oberlie, 57, of Riverton, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 2:00pm at Davis Funeral Home.
Daniel William Oberlie was born on November 30, 1957 in Riverton, WY to Donald and Louise (McCoy) Oberlie. He was one of seven children. He grew up and attended schools in the Riverton area.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a strong believer.
He married his wife of 38 years, Kim Draney, on June 18, 1976 in Riverton, WY. They lived and raised their three girls in Riverton. He never left the area.
He was a truck driver with Riverton Ready Mix. Before that he worked in the oilfield with Champ Drilling, R&S Well Service, and Wards Well Service.
His family said he loved his children and grandchildren and spending time with them. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and was a Nascar fan.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; his daughters, Mandi Dawn Oberlie of Sheridan, Danielle (aka Tig) Irene (Gabe) Baldes of Riverton, and Jessica Louise (Tom) Cunningham of Riverton; his grandchildren, Brock Oberlie of Sheridan, Monkia and Evan Baldes of Riverton and Seth and Jessie Cunningham of Riverton; his mother, Louise E. Oberlie of Riverton; his brothers, Dennis (Sue) Oberlie of Lander, Dale Oberlie of Basin, and David (Marshon) Oberlie of Pullman, WA; his sisters Anne (Mike) Jones and Nancy (Bill) Anderson; his brother-in-laws, Lee Draney, Jim Draney, and Chuck LaRocque; and his sister-in-laws, Lou Chancey and Renee LaRocque.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Oberlie and his grandparents, Mary and Lawrence McCoy and Vere and Bill Oberlie.
