Athly was born to Reed and Olen Bodily in Benett, Utah. She came to Riverton, WY with her late husband, Robert Fitzsimonds. She raised her family in Riverton. Athly worked both in and out of the home. During her life she worked as a mother and homemaker, selling Beeline clothing, cleaning the old Riverton Fire hall, childcare, and private housecleaning.
She also spent years providing private day care services from her home. Athly loved little people and subsequently touched the lives of many while providing care for children. Athly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her faith lead her in every aspect of her life. She was sealed for time and eternity in the Provo, Utah Temple to her loving husband, Marvin Thompson.
Viewings will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, May 8th at the Davis Funeral Home, and from noon to service time Saturday, May 9th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 9th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 430 Elizabeth Drive, Riverton, WY with Bishop Tom Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
She is survived by husband, Marvin Thompson; seven children: Kenny Sprouse, Sheridan, WY; Mary Johnson, Riverton, WY; Tharon & Diane Fitzsimonds, Tulsa, OK; John & Alison Jahnke, Riverton, WY; Travis & Lorna Clarke, Riverton, WY; Mark & Marcia Thompson, Coeur d’Alene, ID; Will Thompson & Candi Talbott, Shoshoni. WY. Also survived by eight siblings: LaThare Bodily, Vadrus Wall, Carolyn Cook, Barbara Fairey, Kent Bodily, Errol Bodily, Sharon Schaefermeyer, Alice Ruppe; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Reed and Olen Bodily, and brothers Joe and Tharon.
