Joyce A. Gustin Goich, 87, of Lander, died on Friday, September 11, 2015, at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton with Angie and Jenifer by her side. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander. Pastor Echo Klaproth will officiate.

Joyce Ardell Gustin was born on November 12, 1927 in Hudson, WY to Wainwright Gustin Sr. and Millie May (Tracy) Gustin. She was one of four children and grew up in Hudson, Ft. Washakie, and Lander. She attended grade school in Hudson and then the Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander and also high school in Durango, CO.

She was baptized into the First Baptist faith and always had her faith no matter where life took her.

She had four children, and raised her two grandsons from an early age after her son and daughter-in-law were killed in a car accident. She also had many “adopted” children that she helped raise and was there for them.

She worked as a secretary for the City of Lander and Fremont County Treasure Office. She also worked at the Lander Café as a cook, Ben Franklin in Lander, Lander Electric and was a bartender and waitress in Arizona and Rock Springs, WY.

She lived most of her life in Lander and did travel and live in different communities but always considered Lander her home.

She loved reading, sewing, country western dancing, riding horses, branding and roundup of cattle, rock and arrowhead hunting, and truck drivers. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She also loved and cared about her many friends and those she claimed as her “adopted” children. She would give you her last $5.00 or the shirt off her back if you needed it. There wasn’t a stranger that she wouldn’t help.

She is survived by her daughters, Charon Meyers and Angela Williams and Angie’s life partner, Taffi Fernsemer; her niece, Hope Johnston; her nephews, Clifford Gustin, and Gerald Gustin; her “adopted” daughter, Jenifer Weeks and her husband, Rick; her brother, Wainwright Gustin, Jr. and his wife, Nina; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wainwright Gustin Sr. and wife Millie; her grandparents, Phoebe and E.A., Gustin and Dan and Clara Tracy; her son, Ricky L. Williams; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Williams; her daughter, Dixie M. Twitchell Pacheco; her ex-husbands, Carl Twitchell, Danny Goich, and Clifford Williams; her sisters, Hope Gustin Martin and Donna Gustin Johnson; and her granddaughter, Maria Joyce Sita Pacheco.
