No services will be held for Hazel Lavina Russell, 94, who passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Wind River Health Care Center in Riverton, WY. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be Mountain View Cemetery on her mother’s grave.
She was born on April 20, 1926, in Visalia CA, daughter of Roger R. and Ida E. (Petty) Ward. Her family left California when Hazel was young and moved to Illinois and in the early 1930’s to Dubois. In the mid 30’s the family moved to Riverton, where they settled. Hazel attended schools in Dubois, Lander and Riverton.
Mrs. Russell enjoyed crafts such as crocheting and embroidery as well as playing bingo at the Senior Center. She was a member of the Eagles, past member of the VFW Auxillary and the Royal Neighbors of America.
She is survived by her niece, Ann Fisher of Casper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Russell; brothers, Kenneth, Everett, Sonny and Vernon; sisters, Ada, Lidia, Bessie, Alice, Dorothy and Ester; and niece Grace Walker.
