Marlene Wadley, 80, of Riverton passed away at Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton on Monday, August 15, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Heritage Hall at the Riverton Fairgrounds. This will be a carry in, lunch meat will be provided, please bring your favorite dish.

Marlene June Snider was born on August 16, 1941 in New Plymouth, ID to James Enoch and Evelyn Leora (York) Snider. The family which consisted of four children moved to Arapahoe Wyoming. Marlene attended Arapahoe Grade School thru 8th grade when she came into Riverton High School where she graduated with the class of 1959.

On December 31, 1960 Marlene married Marvin Albert Wadley in Riverton, Wyoming. They made Riverton their forever home where they raised their two sons, Ted and Tom. Marvin passed in 2001, they spent over forty years together.

Marlene worked at Chopping Chevrolet and Gambles as a bookkeeper and for over 20 years at Clark’s Meat House.

Marlene was a member of the Arapahoe Homemakers Club for many years.

When Marlene’s family first came to Wyoming, they were looking for good farmland, good hunting, fishing, and good people to help them build a good life. Marlene found all of that and more. She loved the mountains, sagebrush and all, hunting and fishing with family. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Marlene loved Riverton where friends and family made it home of the very best kind.

She is survived by her sons, Ted Wadley of Denver, CO and Tom Wadley of Riverton, WY; brother, Jim Snider, Jr. and wife, Marybelle, of Riverton; sisters, Karen Hinkle and Christy Strauch both of Riverton; grandchildren, twins, Kirk and Lyndie Wadley; Somer Wadley-Neubert and husband, Logan; and Shepherd Wadley; and great grandchildren, Emrys Neubert and Madoc Neubert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Evelyn Snider; and husband, Marvin Wadley.
