Funeral Mass for Joseph "Joe" Waterman, Jr., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at Great Plains Hall at Arapahoe. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's. There will be a wake at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton, with a second rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Great Plains Hall at Arapahoe. A wake will follow Wednesday at 754 Left Hand Circle, Arapahoe. Mr. Waterman died Thursday night, March 26, 2009, at his home at Arapahoe. He was 67 years old. Joseph Waterman, Jr. was born on July 7, 1941, at Fort Washakie, the son of Joseph Waterman, Sr., and Laura (Potter) Waterman. His Indian name was Ko Ki, nookeiht, meaning White Whistle. He was a life-long resident of the Wind River Reservation and attended school at St. Stephen's. He married Frances Willey. Mr. Waterman worked as a cowboy for the Arapaho Ranch and as a roofer. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He was a ceremonial elder and one of "the four old men." His family said Mr. Waterman enjoyed going to the casino, hunting, basketball games, football games, sweats, fishing, spending time with his family, camping, riding horseback, listening to country music, movies, boxing, and basketball. Survivors include his wife, Frances Willey of Arapahoe; nieces, Lori, Eleanor, Amillia, and Rita Brown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Evangeline C'Hair; his sundance grandsons; uncles, Charles Potter, Jr., William Gould, and Felix Groesbeck; an aunt, Angeline Spoonhunter; nephews, Sam Dresser, Bridger Hanway, Leo Hanway, Jr., Roberto Hanway, Michael Monroe, Bob Monroe, Clinton Monroe, Billie Whiteplume, Frances Whiteplume, George Antelope, Rudolf Norse, Sr., Raphael J. Norse, Hiram Brown, Lynn R. Brown, Sr., and Ed Brown; nieces, Albertine Cones, Donna J. Antelope, Lucy Mesteth, Rachel Enos, Roberta R.
