Funeral services for Patton Lloyd Brown, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.  A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with a wake to follow at 35 Oberg Lane. 

 

Mr. Brown passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at his home in Ethete, Wyoming.

 

Patton was born on March 27, 1945, son of Vincent Brown and Rena Redman Little Ant in St. Stephens, Wyoming.  Following graduation, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War.  As a medic, he was stationed in Germany.  Mr. Brown earned his Associate’s Degree from Central Wyoming College and also attended Fort Collins and Casper, Community College.  He spent some time living in Denver, CO, Casper, WY and Kinnear, WY but most of his life was spent living in St. Stephens and Ethete, WY. 

 

On January 8, 1973, Patton married Rose Marie Armour in Lander, Wyoming.

 

Mr. Brown worked for the Arapaho Ranch and BIA as well as the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Irrigation.  He loved reading and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting.  Patton also participated in his Native American traditions by attending Pow wows and the Arapaho Sundance.

 

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Brown of Ethete, WY; daughter, Sandra Brown; brothers, Larry Makeshine and Alfred Redman; sisters, Alvena Oldman, Irene Denny, Antoinette Harris and Nora Tabaho; numerous grand and great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rena Redman Little Ant and Vincent Brown; brother, Noble Little; sisters, Frances Makeshine, Pauline Lincoln and Joanne Little; sons, Darrell James and Thomas Antelope; daughters, Brenda and Jolene Antelope; grandparents, Adam Sage and Ada Redman Jenkins, Marguerite Spoonhunter.
