Gary Kent Lee of Farmington, NM passed away on December 18, 2022, at the age of 75. After several months of declining health, Gary died peacefully knowing he was returning home.

Gary was born in Casper, WY on January 7, 1947, to father Neil Bernard Lee and mother Clarice Irene (Tomberlin). Gary, the oldest of three children, enjoyed growing up with his brother Carl (Lee) and sister Sandy (Becker) in Riverton, WY, where he attended high school. He enlisted in the Navy in 1967.

After serving in the Navy, Gary returned to Riverton, WY, and married Meribeth (Beller) in 1968, divorcing in 1977. They had three children together, BrooklyAnn (Bentley), Garin (Lee), and Garrick (Lee). He also enjoyed spending time with his step-children, including his stepdaughter Riki (Colburn).

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Carol (Wootton). He is survived by his siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Gary loved the outdoors; in particular, he was happiest when he was fly-fishing. He shared this love with his children, friends, and family.

A private celebration of life will be held in Riverton, WY in the summer of 2023.  

Gary's family would like to thank all his caregivers for their help in making him comfortable as his health declined. People wishing to honor Gary; please do so by taking a day off, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, and sinking a line in the water.
