Funeral services for Reginald Paul Shakespeare, 59, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Blue Sky Hall.  Interment will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery.  A Wake will begin at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Cowboy residence, 458 Plunkett Road.

 

Mr. Shakespeare passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 in Loveland, Colorado.

 

Reggie was born on March 14, 1964, son of George M. Shakespeare and Margaret Goggles in Lander, Wyoming.  He was given his Indian name, Eagle Walking. 

 

He began his education attending Millcreek School and then Flandreau Indian School before enrolling in a Minneapolis Trade School and Clearfield Job Corp.  Along with living in Wyoming and Minnesota, Reggie also spent time in Salt Lake City, Utah, Denver, Colorado and Albuquerque, NM.  He fondly worked alongside his dad at the Arapaho Ranch in Thermopolis, Wyoming.

 

He honorably participated as a Sundancer.  During his down time, Reggie enjoyed playing cards with his family, fishing and playing his guitar.

 

Survivors include nieces, Larae Shakespeare and Starlite Shakespeare; nephews, Jesse Shakespeare and Thomas Shakespeare; the families of Coulston, Snyder, Surrell, Hanway, Uranga family in Oklahoma, Canadian relatives in Standoff, B.C., Gones and Shoptease of MT, Bulltail, Snyder, Hanway, Surrell, Cowboy, Woodenlegs, Headley, Oldham, Charging Crow, Paulsen, Brown.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Shakespeare; grandparents, Adam and Elsie (Headley) Shakespeare; siblings, George Shakespeare, Jr., Roderick and Patricia Shakespeare; nephews and nieces, Baby Starlight Shakespeare, Adam Jerome, George, III, and Justin; uncles, Norman “Turk”, Stanley and Loren; aunt, Mary Cowboy.
