Theresa M. Claxton of Mill Creek on the Wind River Reservation died at Fort Washakie on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at the age of 91.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church south of Riverton. The Rev. Father Ron Seminara officiates and interment follows at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's.

There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Chuck Potter residence, 1247 17 Mile Road, Arapahoe, with a wake following at the same location.

Theresa Mary Goggles was born at Arapahoe on Oct. 11, 1918, the daughter of Michael Goggles Iron Eyes and Mollie Mary (Fatman) Goggles. She attended school at St. Stephen's.

She was a homemaker, having married Harley "Tommy" Palmer.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Mrs. Claxton made her home in Washington state, on the Wind River Indian Reservation, in Nebraska, and at the Arapaho Ranch out of Thermopolis.

She worked at American laundry, as a seamstress, and in a variety of other jobs.

Her family said she enjoyed sewing, beading, visiting with family and friends, speaking her native language, listening to Indian music, and eating out at restaurants.

Survivors include, the extended families of Goggles, Potter, Bearing, Trumbull, Spoonhunter, Palmer, and Whiteman; brothers, Eric, David, Michael, Jr., and Tommy Goggles; sisters, Mary "Mae" Cleveland, Ethel Potter, Ida Mary Goggles, Sarah Rose Goggles, and Eva Whiteman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mollie (Fatman) Goggles Iron Eyes; grandparents, Lloyd and Levina Goggles; sons, Harley Tommy Palmer, Raymond Palmer, and Darrell Whiteplume; daughters, Eva Palmer and Gloria Palmer.
