Max passed away on April 16, 2025, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 24, 1981, in Casper to Max Harold Ecker, Sr. and Tammy Hessler. Max was a longtime resident of Riverton.
At 20 years old, Max began his career as an electrician apprentice. Through hard work and dedication, he earned his Journeyman license and later studied toward becoming a Master Electrician. However, his passion for helping others led him to change career paths and become an instructor, where he found fulfillment mentoring the next generation at Wyoming Job Corps.
Max was a devoted a baseball fan throughout his youth and rose to All Stars. He took pleasure in teaching and playing baseball, football and many other sports with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed watching and friendly wagering on who would win the next Super Bowl with his friends. The outdoors was second nature to Max and his favorite time of the year was Bow Hunting Season. He also enjoyed Wyoming’s changing seasons, camping, fishing, boating on the lakes, wading in rivers, ice fishing for ling on the coldest days, shooting his guns and bow, traveling, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, cross country skiing, riding his four-wheeler, and hosting great bon fires. He cherished time with his family and friends, grilling and smoking great food, tending to his chickens, his garden, driving his tractor, harvesting his produce, and hanging out with his beloved St. Bernard (Koda).
Max a devoted father, had a rare gift for making those around him smile and laugh. His selfless nature was further reflected in his decision to be an organ donor, giving the ultimate gift of life to others.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 18 years, Yvonne Hartman; his children, Skyler, Damieon, Drake, and Mia; his granddaughter, Sophia; sisters, K’ Lynn Sinner and Dezera Husted: his extended siblings, Angie (Mike), Molly (Cisco), Holly (Dallas), Cappy (Crystal), Josh (Val), Joe, and Trinidad; and numerous nieces and nephews: Ayva, Braxden, Jaedlyen, Kaden, King, Shyua, Faith, Gabby, Carmen, Juan, Alex, Joseph, DJ, Isiaha, Mercedes, Yesenia, Josh, Valentine, Carson, Loyd, Lula, and Ryan. He is also survived by his stepfather, David Husted; his stepmother, Marina Ecker; mother-in-law Mercedes Hartman; and many other family members and friends.
Max was preceded in death by his father, Max H. Ecker, Sr.; his mother, Tami Husted; his father-in-law, Cap Hartman; and several grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles, and great-grandparents.
Max’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his laughter, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
