Garry Joe Hagerman

August 9, 1958 – May 8, 2025

Garry ‘Joe’ was a fun-loving spirit who entered this world on August 9, 1958 in Evanston, Wyoming. After spreading his joy and kindness to the many lives he touched, he passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in Billings, Montana.

Joe married Susan Herrera in 1980 in Thermopolis, Wyoming. From this union were his beloved children Travis, Ryan, Ashley, and Connie.

Often known for his witty personality, his ability to pull a joke out of his pocket in any situation, and his giving nature, Joe will be deeply missed by so many that loved him.

Joe obtained his associates degree in mechanics from Central Wyoming College, but found success in many things including occupations in the oil field, salvage yards of Riverton, logging, Burlington Northern Railroad Company, and the State of Wyoming. Not only did he gain several skills from these endeavors, but numerous lifelong friendships as well. He could often be found telling stories or reminiscing about these experiences and the people he crossed paths with.

Joy in life came in several different forms for Joe, but typically at the center of it was his family. Whether it be a walk around the block, a night on the town, a text containing a song or a joke, or sharing laughs during a meal, he was always surrounded with those he loved the most. The highlight of many of his days was waiting for all the grandkids to walk through the door so he could ask about the latest game, day at school or work, or because he had been waiting all day to tell them his newest knee-slapper! During his last couple years, Joe was able to spend much needed quality time with family he had not seen in years. These reconnections were one of his biggest blessings.

Joe is survived by his stepfather. Brant Keele; his children. Travis Hagerman, Ryan Hagerman, Ashley Hagerman, and Connie Hagerman; grandchildren, Nicolin Hagerman, Hailee Wallace, Daniel Lynd, Bryley Moore, Paxton Hagerman, Bryson Hagerman, Livia Moore, and Ezekial Hagerman; great-grandchild, Vincent Hagerman; siblings, Kerrie Minick, Donald Hagerman, Cathy Morris (Dale), Kevin Keele (Cindy), Scott Keele, Sandee Lewis (Jason), and Tiffany Stauffenberg (Serol); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Gary T. Hagerman; mother, Connie (Meeks) Keele; brother, Greg W. Morse; and infant brother Brian Keele.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Davis Funeral Home in Riverton, Wyoming   Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
