Joymly “Joy” Ann Hughes, 54, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at SageWest Hospital – Riverton. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home.
Joy was born on Tuesday, May 26, 1970, in Minot, North Dakota, to Bradley and Donna (Loving) Stromme. During her early childhood, she lived in Minot, Germany, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. In second grade, her family moved to Riverton, Wyoming, which became her forever home.
She graduated from Riverton High School with the Class of 1988 and went on to attend Central Wyoming College. On Saturday, February 10, 1990, she married Brian Hughes in Riverton. They shared 35 loving years of marriage and raised two sons.
Joy dedicated many years to First Interstate Bank, where she rose through the ranks to become Supervisor of Tellers. She was known for her warm heart, strong work ethic, and genuine care for others.
In her free time, Joy enjoyed horseback riding, bowling, reading, and spending meaningful time with her family. Her kindness, strength, and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Hughes; sons, Eric Hughes and his wife, Amanda, and Sean Hughes; bonus daughter, Aiyana Duncan; brothers, Brian Stromme, Carlyle Martin, Kenny Martin, and Darrell Martin; sisters, Linda Mundy, Dawn Allen, and Carla Martin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brad and Donna Stromme; brothers, Jerry Martin, Terry Martin, and Bradley Stromme, Jr.; and sister, Carol Renee Hayes.
