A Memorial service for William “Bill” L. Miles, 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home.  Military graveside services will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

On June 3, 2025, our beloved husband, father, and friend, William Lewis Miles, peacefully returned to his Heavenly home.

Bill was born on January 23, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lawrence David and Dorothy Mabel Miles. He was the youngest of five children. His childhood was filled with farm work, riding bulls and horses, and exploring the outdoors on horseback with his trusted companion, Toby. During his teenage years, Bill developed a lifelong passion for cars and mechanics.

He proudly served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army before returning home in 1969. In the years that followed, Bill became a father to Camber (Miles) Brackett and Spencer Smith. He worked hard to support his family as a long-haul truck driver, which eventually brought him to Riverton in the 1980s. There, he met Patricia Witt, and the two were married on August 13, 1983. They welcomed their son, Laurence, the following year.

Deeply committed to his community, Bill was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) and volunteered with the Pavillion Fire Department. He loved hosting barbecues at his family’s store, Odds and Ends, where friends and neighbors gathered often.

In the mid-1990s, Bill went back to school and proudly earned his GED and an Associate’s Degree in Auto Mechanics from Central Wyoming College.

In the early 2000s, Bill began to experience health challenges related to Agent Orange exposure and was diagnosed with diabetes. Despite these difficulties, he continued to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, always finding joy in the outdoors. As his mobility declined during the COVID-19 lockdown, he adapted once again—this time by shifting his focus to building model cars.

Bill was a man of strength, humor, and resilience. He faced every stage of life with determination and heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Miles of Riverton, WY; children, Laurence Miles, daughter, Camber (Brad) Brackett, Spencer (Daisy) Smith; brother, Donald Miles; Catherine (Francisco) Krause Sosa; grandchildren, Brenden Brackett, Shelby Brackett, Eleasha Smith, Spencer Smith, Jr., and Lydia Miles Smith; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.

Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marrelleyn (Miles) Solmonson; brothers, Dennis and Jim Miles and grandson, Jacob Brackett.
