Rauchfuss, Russell Eugene
Laurie,
thinking of you and holding you in my prayers.
Rosanne Riley - 1/20/2026As a former student, I loved Professor Russell Rauchfuss’s Business Law class. His lectures were engaging, clear, and often infused with a wonderful sense of humor. What stood out most to me was that his exams were truly based on what he taught in class, not just on memorizing material from the massive business law textbook. In fact, I learned far more from his lectures than from the book itself. His tests were challenging and pushed me to think critically, which I truly appreciated. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have had Russell as my Business Law professor.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, especially to his wife, Laurie. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.
Teresa Bogucki - 1/20/2026Russ, as we were growing up, we would visit you, Uncle Smokey, and Aunt Jackie, driviing from Worland to Cody. You were always quiet, not sure what to do around 3 girl cousins, but we knew you enjoyed the visitors.
When you stopped in Cheyenne, on your way to U of Wyoming, we were so very happy you decided on Law. It kind of made sense, as you were quiet, contemplative in your thoughts.
Later, when you graduated from Law, I was so very proud of your accompishments ! Bless you, Russ, as you meet your Maker. I send Blessings to Laurie, as she begins her journey. Blessings to all.

Cousin Lindy (Rauchfuss) Robinett - 1/21/2026
Russ taught along side my husband, Les Obert, for over 25 years at Casper College. As one of his students I enjoyed his humor, arguments, and love of teaching.
Sorry for your loss,
Donna Obert - 1/21/2026Sorry to hear about Russ' passing. We had great fun growing up together near Heart Mountain between Cody and Powell. Some of my best memories are the times we spent together with our families in Wyoming. Sincere condolences to Laurie.

Jerry Bygren - 1/23/2026My condolences to the Rauchfuss family. I had the pleasure of being one of his students at Casper College taking business law. Shoshoni and Casper Wyoming
Linda Kay Carlson Remer - 1/26/2026Russ taught law of evidence at CC, and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. After one remarkable (but civil) butting of the heads incident with the gentleman, he not only graciously (more or less) admitted his error, but offered me a job as his legal assistant. Since I was already employed, I declined, but the incident has stood out in my mind for thirty years. It was an honor and a pleasure to know him.
