Darrell has been one of Jack's favorite friends for a very long time. As I got to know him I was awed by his intelligence, humor, compassion, generousness and wit. He saw things from a unique perspective and his stories, anecdotes, and truisms will stay with us forever.

When he learned that we wouldn't be able to get to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally one summer, he hopped into his truck and drove eighteen hours to our house to take us there, another sixteen hours. He brought us home after the rally and then returned to Wyoming. This is just one of many gifts he gave to us.

I saw only the kind and gentle side of this man. He doted on his little dogs: when visiting, he would sleep out in the truck with them so they wouldn't get lonely. I adored him. Jack knows a talented artist who was interested in painting a man with "character". We kind of tricked him into posing and he became a model! We haven't seen the results yet, but we do know that we will treasure this portrait forever.

Thank you, Darrel, for making our lives better.

With love and respect,

Cheryl and Jack Sikich
