Cross-Dailey, Albert "Don"

I hope you know how much I miss you...your smile, your laugh, just being with you, your interesting stories, our road trips with my camper & kitties...so many memories that I will treasure forever. Your last words to me: "I've got this, mom."

My hearts broken that I have to write this. I'm still in shock, God I remember when you and Sandy lives on base in a tiny apartment , then moved to your house that was 10 min from us. That's where I remember having bbq, getting to ride on your Harley, to having every Christmas Eve exchanging gifts then later that week having new years get together where you would make your home made manacotti? Playing cards ( though I never would win) but I had fun. Then sandy and you having Shree and Annie our families grew and we continued every tradition we had birthdays, Xmas Eve new years and everything in between. God i miss those days, I was so mad when y'all left, my whole world changed though you moved far I know you were a phone call away. The last time I heard your voice was before my spouse and kids moved for our next duty station in April. I was like that's not Ding don and then you laughed , and that made me smile. You have a one of a kind laugh, and I will miss that so much. I love you Don... thank you for allowing me to be apart of your life! You will be missed!

I met Don as a young boy in Jackson. I had a litter of hamsters and he talked me (and Mike and Bobbie) into letting him adopt one. He was so earnest and excited to give the little rodent a home. Always a soft spot in my heart for him. I am saddened to hear he has passed.

I had the Honor of growing up with Donnie in Jackson in the 1970's.

it WAS a Magical place to grow up. The Rodeo grounds were a stones through from us , we floated Flat creek on innertubes, and Snowking mountain was out our back door.

Din always had a positive, Can do attitude and a laugh.

Although it has been a long time since I have seen my old friend I still cherish our youth together.

as I looked at his photo although I saw a more mature man I at once reconized his "dimples" and the memories came flooding back

Don,

I will miss you Brother!  I dont like to think of a world without Don Dailey in it; you were a great Marine and mentor for me over the years, as you were to many.

Don, things I should have said long before but life got in the way and I didn't.  When we first met I was a Warrant Officer plucked from 11th Marines and sent to 3/5 to fill a need.  You were a Corporal at the time.  I learned so much from you that I can't even begin to explain.  We served in war and peace together and you were a big part of my career being a success.  I always marveled at your vast knowledge.  Thank you for making me a better Marine.  Rest in peace brother!  I will never forget you or our time together. Semper Fi.

I feel fortunate to have known Don.  He made a difference in many lives.

He's left behind the memory of being a generous and caring man who

was an avid reader and (like me) a Trekkie.

Don, Holly, and I had some good trips together that will always bring back

fond memories.  He'll be greatly missed.
