Donald Blair

Blair, Donald

Theil, Teresa, and family -

My sadness is deep as I greive at the loss of a great friend. As you know, Don and I became childhood friends in Rawlins in fourth grade. He was at Pershing Elementary, and I was at Mountain View, but our paths crossed because we both played the trumpet, and we became fast friends during band practice at the high school. If I remember right, I think we may have had a fist fight before we became pals, haha, but that's the way we rolled... We continued our friendship when both families moved to Riverton in Jr. High. I can remember the day, like yesterday. Walking to school with Niel Rudolph, and your Dad pulling up in the red Chrysler - Hey I know that guy! I have so many funny, happy, great, and profound memories of our times together, and our families times spent together as well. He called me about a month ago, and I can still laugh when I think of the joke he told me. Even though the miles separated us, our friendship continued for nearly 50 years, and whenever we spoke it was if we'd pick up where we'd left off. My heart is heavy now, and my thought's of Don's passing are selfish, as I still want my friend to be here, but I am comforted to know he is in a better place. I will pray for my friend, and I will have you two in my thoughts as you go through this. I truly wish I could be there for you.

Sandy, Theil and Teresa,

Just wanted you to know how saddened I was to hear of Don's passing. He was definately a "chip off the old block"--full of stories with a tough exterior that hid the gentleness. After Darlene's funeral he insisted on walking me home. I told him I was all right and he said his Mom would give him heck if he didn't". (Well, maybe he didn't say "heck".) After I moved to Arizona he called me once and told me all about his trucking experiences in Apache Junction. He always had a trucking story and I'm sure he's still telling them up above. When I worked at the answering service he was always polite to all of the girls on the phones and everyone appreciated it.

My sympathy goes out to you all. Jan

Teresa, Theil and Families,
I was saddened to hear the loss of Don.Joyce called me as soon as she heard. It is never easy, no matter what. My thoughts, prayers and most of all "memories" are with you. There are no words to make it better, only time. Take care of yourself and each other.
