Ella Mae Younge

Younge, Ella Mae

Ella Mae was such a treasure. She always had a smile and was happy to see people. We always enjoyed seeing her at school events in support of Tanner and his classmates. What a special lady to touch so many lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time.

The journey in our book of life leads us through all seasons. There is always something of beauty everywhere we go, if we so choose to look hard enough. Ella Mae is a Dear Chapter in my book. Her smile demanded immediate respect, for in that smile I could see its true definition. It came from the love she protrayed for her wonderful family. Lori, Tommy and Candi...Wow, Your Mom was an Angel! Tanner, Lacy and Jenni... Whoa, You had the most Awesome Grandma, She was blessed with a heart full of love only an Angel could have. You three expressed the very pride of Her life. Tom, the Journey with Ella Mae was Life At It's Best! You know that. Let her precious memories guide You through life and You shall never fail. Thank You All for sharing her with me, I promise she will always be dear in my heart. I love YOU all. May Peace be with YOU.

Dear Tom: I remember Ella Mae as a wonderful, smart, quiet, and gracious, person. She, Shelby(Winters), Marlyn(Turner)& Janet(Spangler)were all best of friends at Brown City, Michigan. It seems unreal that Shelby left us, then my wife Janet left us on April 17, 2011, and a week later now Ella Mae. That reunion in Heaven must be great. Please know that family and friends care for you. Dick Root, Cadillac, Michigan

Younge family,

I was shocked and saddened upon hearing of Ella Mae's passing. My memories of the time my brother and I spent with the family were always fun, warm, and wonderful. As we get older, it is easy to forget the times we had as children, but I vividly remember climbing around the shop while Tom, Tommy, my dad Burt, and my brother Matt worked on cars together. Although we have lost touch, I have thought of the family many times over the years, and I know my parents have kept in touch.

I wish I could be there this weekend to celebrate Ella Mae's amazing life. My prayers, thoughts, and love go out to the family in this difficult time. What a special lady, who I often considered a third grandma to me in my younger years!

So sorry to hear of your tragic loss. We are still here in Florida and will be unable to attend the memorial service, but will be thinking of you and your family.

You may not know us, but Jane is a cousin of Ella Mae on the Sitter side of the family. We met in the early 2000's while traveling from Michigan to Yellowstone where we worked as volunteers for eleven years. We stayed in the local camp ground almost every year on our way out. Ella Mae met us for breakfast a couple of time there in Dubois. We are very familiar with your part of the country having traveled extensively outside the park, including Lander, Powell and obviously Cody.

We will be returning to Michigan in July at which time we will look Janet up.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and yours at this time. I have wonderful childhood memories of Ella Mae and times spent at her home. I hope that her passing was peaceful. With deepest sympathy.

My sympathy to the family of Ella Mae.

We graduated in the same class in 1955. We went to school together from kg.

I hadn't seen her in years but thought of her often.

I just got my Brown City Banner today with her obituary although I was told about her sudden passing the day after Easter but could not find an obit. for her in Wy. until now.

From the picture I see she still was a beautiful lady.

We have had a lot of class members pass on in the last few years.

I live in Florida so was not able to attend the memorial service in Michigan nor Wyoming.
